A shocking case of bullying has emerged at the Leonardo Torres Quevedo Institute in Santander, Spain, where four students allegedly attacked a classmate with cerebral palsy.
The incident, captured on video, has sparked outrage after being broadcast on national television.
The victim’s mother reported the attack to the police, leading to the activation of the school’s anti-bullying protocol and a five-day suspension for the aggressors.
However, the case has now moved to the judicial system, pausing the school’s disciplinary actions.
The Cantabrian Education Minister, Sergio Silva, condemned the attack, calling it "inadmissible" and ensuring the victim’s safety through constant supervision.
Meanwhile, students and parents demand harsher penalties, including permanent expulsions, arguing that temporary measures are insufficient.
Advocacy groups have highlighted the broader issue of bullying against disabled students, urging swift and decisive action to prevent future incidents.
