In a dramatic turn of events, businessman Víctor de Aldama has accused high-ranking members of the Spanish government of corruption.
During a voluntary testimony, Aldama claimed to have given substantial sums of money to former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos and his advisor Koldo García for mask procurement deals during the pandemic.
He also alleged that President Pedro Sánchez requested to meet him personally.
Aldama's accusations have prompted the PSOE to announce legal actions against him.
The businessman, currently in preventive detention for another criminal case, has sparked a political storm with his claims, which include allegations of a secret meeting with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez.
The case continues to unfold as the Spanish judiciary investigates these serious allegations.
