The Canary Islands are facing a mounting migrant crisis, with over 2,600 arrivals between July and August alone.
Fernando Clavijo, the President of the Canary Islands, has expressed frustration with the central government, led by Pedro Sánchez, for not providing adequate support.
Clavijo warns that his party, the Coalición Canaria, may withdraw parliamentary support if a solution is not found.
The situation has strained relations between the regional and central governments, as Clavijo insists that the Canary Islands cannot bear the burden of Europe's southern migration pressure alone.
He calls for a national agreement to address the humanitarian and logistical challenges posed by the influx of migrants.
