The Canary Islands' political parties, except for Vox, have rallied behind a new decree to redistribute unaccompanied migrant minors across Spain.
The decree, approved by the Spanish government, aims to ease the burden on the islands, which currently care for nearly 6,000 minors.
While the Canary branch of the Popular Party supports the measure, their national counterparts and other conservative-led regions strongly oppose it, citing logistical and political concerns.
The central government, however, insists the law is binding and will enforce compliance.
Negotiations with Junts were key to securing the decree's passage, as the Popular Party's opposition had stalled earlier efforts.
