A significant weather shift is set to impact Spain as a cold front moves across the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, bringing widespread cloudiness and light rain.
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecasts that the front will move from west to east, with the northern half of the peninsula experiencing the most rain, potentially turning to snow in the Pyrenees at altitudes between 1,800 and 2,200 meters.
The Cantabrian region is expected to see the heaviest rainfall, while the Canary Islands may face a DANA, leading to unstable weather, particularly in the western islands.
This could result in strong and persistent storms, especially on the northern slopes.
Meanwhile, temperatures will drop in the Cantabrian area but rise in the eastern peninsula and Balearic Islands.
The weekend will see a more pronounced cold spell, with significant snowfall in the northern mountains and adverse conditions moving to the western Mediterranean by Sunday.
