Food Banks Unite for DANA Relief

Published: 2024-11-22

Food banks across Spain have launched major campaigns to support those affected by the recent DANA storm in Valencia and to aid local communities in need.

In Álava, the Banco de Alimentos aims to collect 44,000 kilos of food and 120,000 euros in supermarket vouchers, with half of the proceeds going to DANA victims.

Meanwhile, in Catalunya, the Gran Recapte campaign seeks to double its previous collection, targeting 230,000 vulnerable individuals and DANA-affected areas.

Both regions emphasize the importance of monetary donations, which allow for the purchase of essential long-lasting goods.

Volunteers play a crucial role, with thousands mobilized to facilitate collections in numerous supermarkets.

These efforts highlight a nationwide solidarity movement, aiming to provide immediate relief and long-term support to those in need.
