French police have arrested Allal El Mourabit Ahmmar, a man accused of killing three farmers in Spain between November 2023 and January 2024. The suspect, of Moroccan origin and Spanish nationality, was previously convicted in 2018 for attempting to join ISIS.

The murders occurred in rural areas of Navarra and Lleida, with victims aged between 68 and 84. El Mourabit allegedly attacked the victims to steal their vehicles, which he used to flee.

He was apprehended in Béziers, France, after a coordinated investigation by Spanish and French authorities.

The arrest followed a European warrant issued in March 2024. El Mourabit is now awaiting extradition to Spain.
