Juan Lobato Resigns Amid Party Turmoil

Juan Lobato, the former Secretary General of the PSOE in Madrid, has resigned following a tumultuous period marked by a loss of support within the party.

Lobato, who had been in the position for three years, faced mounting pressure after a controversial incident involving the registration of a conversation about a sensitive case related to Isabel Díaz Ayuso's partner.

This led to widespread discontent among party members, culminating in calls for his resignation.

Despite his departure from the leadership role, Lobato will continue to serve as a regional deputy and senator.

Isaura Leal is set to lead the interim management team, a role she previously held in 2021. The PSOE in Madrid will now proceed under her guidance as they prepare for the upcoming 41st Federal Congress in Seville.
