King Felipe VI has been awarded his first honorary doctorate in Spain by the University of Alcalá.

During the ceremony, he emphasized the need for clear and accessible legal language to ensure citizens feel part of the administration, not just subjects of it.

The King also highlighted the importance of regulating emerging fields like artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and digital commerce to prevent abuses and ensure ethical practices.

He described the legal language as a shared tool that connects citizens with public institutions and underpins democracy.

The event, attended by Queen Letizia and other dignitaries, marked a historic moment for the university and reinforced the King’s commitment to human rights and scientific advancement.
