Valencian President Carlos Mazón faces criticism over his actions during the DANA storm.

On October 29, while severe flooding devastated parts of Valencia, Mazón attended a lunch with journalist Maribel Vilaplana at El Ventorro restaurant.

The meeting, reportedly to discuss Vilaplana's potential role as director of the regional TV network À Punt, delayed Mazón's arrival at the emergency coordination center by several hours.

The Generalitat clarified that the lunch was not funded by public money, as Mazón attended in his capacity as leader of the People's Party (PP), not as regional president.

However, opposition parties argue that Mazón prioritized party matters over his official duties during a critical emergency.

The controversy has sparked accusations of incompetence and dishonesty, with critics demanding greater transparency and accountability from the president.
