The Spanish Congress has officially censured Transport Minister Óscar Puente due to his perceived inability to manage the ongoing railway crisis affecting essential train services.
This political rebuke, initiated by the Popular Party (PP), saw support from three of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's allies: ERC, Junts, and Podemos.
The motion passed with 186 votes in favor, highlighting a significant lack of confidence in Puente's management.
This marks the second time Puente has faced such censure, following a similar outcome in the Senate.
The Congress has urged the government to develop an urgent action plan to address the railway issues and improve passenger support during disruptions.
Despite the censure, the decision to retain Puente in his position remains with President Sánchez.
