A newborn baby girl was discovered abandoned in a supermarket bathroom in Castellón de la Plana on Saturday.

An employee found the infant wrapped in a blanket during routine cleaning.

Authorities were immediately alerted, and the baby was taken to the Hospital General de Castellón, where she is reported to be in good health.

The Generalitat Valenciana plans to declare an emergency guardianship and has arranged for a foster family while investigations continue.

The police have arrested the baby's parents after reviewing surveillance footage.

The baby remains under observation in the hospital's Neonatology Unit as the investigation seeks to clarify the circumstances of her abandonment.
