A second report by Spain's Guardia Civil has found no evidence of illegal activities in the investigation of Begoña Gómez, wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
The 102-page document, analyzed by El País, examined six contracts awarded to Innova Next, a company owned by Juan Carlos Barrabés.
The investigation, which began after a complaint by the pseudo-union Manos Limpias, focused on allegations of influence peddling and business corruption.
However, the Guardia Civil concluded that the contract awards were conducted normally and in accordance with public procurement principles.
The report also noted that Gómez's name did not appear in any of the examined documents.
The findings have led the Public Prosecutor's Office to question the basis of the ongoing investigation.
