Podemos, a left-wing Spanish political party, has registered a total amendment to the judicial reform agreed upon by the PP and PSOE.
The party proposes lowering the majorities required for electing the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), suggesting an absolute majority in the second vote would suffice.
Podemos also aims to reduce the Senate's power in this process.
This move comes after the party denounced the 'return of bipartisanship' and now marks its own profile with this initiative.
The proposal includes changes to the election system of CGPJ members and suggests creating a new access system to the judicial career.
However, the amendment has little chance of success, as the reform pact between PP and PSOE is protected by both parties' commitment not to support or present any amendments outside the strictly agreed text.
