PP Rejects Vox's Ultimatum on Migrant Minors

Published: 2024-07-09

The Spanish People's Party (PP) is facing pressure from both sides over the distribution of unaccompanied migrant minors from the Canary Islands.

Vox, PP's far-right coalition partner in several regions, has threatened to break alliances if PP agrees to accept these minors.

However, PP spokesman Borja Sémper firmly rejected this ultimatum, stating that 'threats and blackmail don't work with Feijóo.

' The PP maintains a stance of solidarity, agreeing to accept minors within their regions' capacities, while demanding the central government provide necessary resources.

This issue will be discussed at a sectoral conference in Tenerife, where all autonomous communities will meet with the central government to address the redistribution of nearly 6,000 migrant minors.
