The Popular Party (PP) has strongly criticized the recent agreement between the Socialist Party (PSOE) and ERC to establish a unique economic concert for Catalonia, calling it a "historic error" and a "political and economic corruption exercise.
" PP spokesperson Miguel Tellado stated that the proposed concert is "impossible to apply" under current laws, which ensure inter-territorial solidarity.
The agreement, which aims to secure ERC's support for Salvador Illa's investiture as president of Catalonia, is set to be voted on by ERC's members this Friday.
Several regional PP leaders have threatened legal action if the concert is implemented, arguing it undermines the common financing system and creates inequality among regions.
The PP is also urging the PSOE to consult its members on the agreement, questioning the legitimacy of the process.
