Princess Leonor of Spain has embarked on her naval training at the Naval Military School in Marín, Pontevedra.

On her first day, she was awarded the "distinguished student" insignia, a recognition for her exemplary performance at the General Military Academy in Zaragoza.

Leonor participated in a sports competition, where her team emerged victorious, and experienced her first maritime training session.

The princess, who is set to turn 19 in October, will continue her training at Marín until December before joining the Juan Sebastián de Elcano training ship.

Her integration into the naval school has been smooth, and she has already begun forming friendships with her peers.

The local community has warmly welcomed her, with a notable visit to a nearby restaurant where she enjoyed Galician cuisine with fellow cadets.
