Thousands of public employees gathered in Madrid to demand the continuation of Muface, a healthcare model allowing 1.5 million public workers and their families to choose between public and private medical care.

The protest, organized by the CSIF union, drew an estimated 35,000 participants, including police and civil guard unions.

The crisis stems from a standoff between the government and insurers over renewing the healthcare agreement, set to expire at the end of the year.

Protesters voiced concerns over delayed medical appointments and the potential collapse of personalized care.

CSIF has warned of possible public sector strikes if no resolution is reached.
