Former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont made a dramatic reappearance in Barcelona on Thursday, addressing around 3,500 supporters outside the Parliament.

His speech, which lasted just six minutes, was filled with defiance as he declared, "We are still here, and we have no right to give up.

" However, shortly after his address, Puigdemont vanished, leading to a massive police operation dubbed 'Operation Cage' to locate him.

Reports indicate that he escaped with the help of his lawyer, Gonzalo Boye, raising questions about the effectiveness of the police's security measures.

The Mossos d'Esquadra have since detained an officer suspected of aiding Puigdemont's escape, further complicating the situation.
