Sánchez Criticizes PP's Far-Right Ties

Published: 2025-02-23

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has strongly criticized the Popular Party (PP) for its alliances with the far-right Vox party, warning that history will judge such collaborations harshly.

Speaking at the PSOE Congress in Castilla y León, Sánchez celebrated the appointment of Carlos Martínez as the new regional leader and expressed confidence in a political shift in the 2026 elections.

He accused the PP of enabling far-right ideologies that threaten European unity and democracy.

The PP responded by condemning Sánchez’s remarks, calling them extreme and politically motivated.

Sánchez also reiterated Spain’s support for Ukraine and the importance of EU solidarity against Russian aggression.

The event marked a significant moment for the PSOE as it gears up for future electoral battles in a region dominated by the PP for nearly four decades.
