Spain is bracing for a severe heatwave this weekend, with temperatures expected to soar above 40°C in several regions.
The Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued orange alerts for provinces including Sevilla, Córdoba, and Huelva, warning of extreme heat.
The heatwave follows the recent departure of a DANA weather system, which caused significant disruption in the Balearic Islands.
While the north of Spain will experience milder temperatures, the south and Canary Islands are set to endure the brunt of the heat.
In addition to the heat, some areas in Catalonia and the Balearics may face thunderstorms.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
