Spain is bracing for a weekend of soaring temperatures as the recent DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels) subsides.
The weather phenomenon had brought temporary relief from the summer heat, along with storms and hail, particularly affecting Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.
However, the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecasts a return to high temperatures, with some regions expected to exceed 40ºC.
While the Balearic Islands remain under a yellow alert due to lingering effects of the DANA, the rest of the country will experience stable weather with clear skies.
The heat will be most intense in the Guadalquivir Valley, Extremadura, and southern Galicia.
Despite the rising temperatures, some areas in the north, like A Coruña and Santander, will enjoy cooler weather.
The weekend will see a mix of sunshine and occasional showers, particularly in the eastern Mediterranean regions.
