A groundbreaking study by Spain's Ministry of Equality reveals that over 114,000 women are involved in prostitution, with a staggering 80% at risk of sexual exploitation and trafficking.

The study, presented by Minister Ana Redondo, highlights the urgent need for public policies to combat this modern-day slavery.

Analyzing 645,000 online ads, the research uncovers that 0.56% of adult women in Spain are in prostitution, with the highest numbers in Catalonia, Madrid, and Valencia.

The study also shows that 51% of these women are of Latin American origin, with Colombians leading at 28%.

This pioneering effort aims to shed light on the hidden world of trafficking and exploitation, urging immediate action to protect vulnerable women.
