Spain is set to introduce a new, standardized university entrance exam, known as the Selectividad, in June.
Over 300,000 students are expected to take part in this revamped assessment, which aims to unify the testing process across various autonomous communities.
The new format will feature a single model per subject, replacing the previous option of choosing between two.
Additionally, 20-25% of the questions will focus on competency-based skills, requiring students to apply their knowledge to real-world problems.
This shift aligns with global educational trends towards more applied learning.
The changes are part of a broader effort to harmonize the exam system, ensuring fair access to Spain's university system.
The final details of the exam are expected to be finalized by mid-October, with the hope that all regions will adhere to the agreed-upon standards.
