As the calm after Storm Caetano settles, a new weather front named Bert is set to bring significant changes to the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula.
Formed through a rapid intensification process known as 'bombogenesis', Bert is expected to hit the region starting Sunday.
The storm will bring strong winds and heavy rains, particularly affecting Galicia, Asturias, and the Cantabrian coast, with maritime conditions worsening.
The Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued warnings, with Galicia under an orange alert for severe coastal phenomena and strong winds.
Temperatures will remain unusually high for this time of year, with some areas experiencing up to 10 degrees above normal.
The weekend will see a brief respite with sunny skies before Bert's arrival, marking a transition from the mild conditions left by Caetano to the more turbulent weather ahead.
