Northern Spain is bracing for continued stormy weather as a new Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos (DANA) approaches, prolonging instability across the region.

The Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecasts heavy rains and thunderstorms, particularly affecting the Cantabrian coast, with the most intense conditions expected on Friday.

Temperatures are set to drop significantly, with highs barely reaching 25°C in Bilbao.

The weekend will see persistent showers, especially in Galicia, Asturias, and the Pyrenees, with the DANA moving north towards France by Saturday.

Despite some sunny intervals, the overall weather will remain autumnal, with occasional strong storms expected in the northeast and Mediterranean regions.

The situation remains dynamic, with potential changes in the DANA's trajectory affecting the intensity and location of the storms.
