A tragic accident occurred at the Matamá festivities in Vigo, where a 35-year-old man lost his life after a mechanical arm of the 'Saltamontes' ride detached.

The incident happened around 2 AM on Saturday, while the man was enjoying the ride with his wife and daughter.

Witnesses reported that the ride was moving backward when the arm broke, causing the cabin to fall.

Emergency services arrived quickly, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head injuries.
