A tragic incident occurred at the Luis Vives public school in Massanassa, Valencia, where a worker died and another was injured following a partial building collapse.

The school, severely damaged by recent floods, had been sealed off due to its precarious condition.

Despite this, workers from Tragsa were inside conducting cleanup operations when the roof caved in.

Emergency services, including firefighters and police, responded promptly, with the injured worker being transported to a local hospital.

The collapse has prompted an investigation by the National Police's Homicide and Scientific Brigade to determine the cause.

The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has called for an urgent meeting to address the incident, emphasizing that such accidents must not recur.

The school was already under consideration for complete reconstruction due to the extensive damage from the floods.
