The recent death of Diallo Sissoko, a 21-year-old Malian refugee, has sparked criticism over inadequate healthcare in Spanish refugee camps.
Sissoko, who arrived in Spain in August after fleeing Mali, died in a Madrid camp after suffering from respiratory issues and leg pain.
Despite visiting a hospital, he was not given antibiotics for his diagnosed lung infection.
The camp, managed by the NGO Accem, lacked a doctor during critical days due to a contract lapse.
This incident has intensified scrutiny on the healthcare provided in overcrowded camps, where complaints about medical care are common.
The Spanish government faces pressure to investigate and improve conditions to prevent further tragedies.
