In a tragic turn of events, a night out with friends ended in the brutal death of 24-year-old nurse Samuel Luiz.

The incident occurred on July 3, 2021, when a group of young people, aged 17 to 25, left a pub in A Coruña, Spain, and attacked Luiz over a misunderstanding.

The main accused, Diego Montaña, believed Luiz was recording him, leading to a violent confrontation.

Montaña, along with his then-girlfriend Katy Silva and others, face charges of murder with an aggravating factor of discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Silva, who claims innocence, testified that she tried to stop Montaña and was unaware of Luiz's sexual orientation.

The trial continues as the accused deny involvement, pointing fingers at each other, while the court seeks justice for Luiz.
