A political dispute has erupted in Spain over the delayed activation of emergency alerts during a recent severe weather event in Valencia.

The Spanish Ministry of Interior has placed the responsibility for the late alerts on the regional government of Valencia, led by Carlos Mazón.

The Ministry emphasized that the management of civil protection plans is the exclusive responsibility of regional authorities, as per current legislation.

In response, Mazón defended his administration's actions, stating that warnings had been issued since Sunday.
