Tensions have escalated between the Spanish government and the Association of Victims of Terrorism (AVT) over a legal reform that could reduce prison time for ETA members.
During a UN conference in Vitoria, AVT President Maite Araluce confronted Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska, accusing him of deceit and demanding accountability.
The reform, which allows for reduced sentences for ETA prisoners, has sparked outrage among victims, who feel abandoned by the government.
Araluce has also directly challenged Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, urging him to reconsider the policy, which she claims undermines justice for victims.
The AVT, representing over 4,800 victims, has expressed feelings of devastation and betrayal, fearing that the reform prioritizes political gains over justice.
