In the early hours of Monday, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck the Atlantic Ocean, south of Lisbon, Portugal.
The tremor, recorded by Spain's National Geographic Institute (IGN), occurred at 6:11 AM local time at a depth of 19 kilometers.
The quake was felt across western Andalusia, particularly in Huelva, Spain, and even reached parts of Morocco.
Despite its strength, no damage or casualties have been reported.
This marks the strongest earthquake in the region since 2009, when a 5.6 magnitude quake hit Portugal's southern coast.
Portuguese Civil Protection received reports of the quake being felt throughout Lisbon's metropolitan area and Setúbal district, with social media users across the country confirming the tremor.
