Andalusia Tackles Fiscal Inequality

Published: 2025-01-31

The Andalusian Socialist Party (PSOE) is pushing for reforms to address fiscal disparities among Spain's autonomous communities.

At their recent congress, they criticized tax cuts in Madrid, which they claim create unfair competition and reduce public revenue by €9 billion.

The PSOE advocates for a fairer funding model to ensure equal public services across regions, regardless of wealth.

They also support restructuring regional debt, a move tied to a broader national debate on debt relief, particularly for Catalonia.

The Ministry of Finance plans to discuss these issues at a key meeting on February 26, following the Andalusian PSOE's congress.

This meeting could shape Spain's approach to regional funding and fiscal equity.
