Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the President of the Community of Madrid, has decided not to attend a scheduled meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, citing concerns over the nature of the discussions.
Ayuso's decision, which she announced earlier this week, has been criticized by the Council of Ministers as "irresponsible" and a "dereliction of duty.
" Despite this, Ayuso has received support from the leader of the People's Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who defended her stance, highlighting the ongoing political tensions and accusations against her.
Meanwhile, the meeting at La Moncloa will proceed with the attendance of the Presidents of the Balearic Islands and Extremadura, Marga Prohens and María Guardiola, respectively.
The discussions are set to focus on regional financing among other issues.
