Farmer Arrested Over Missing Workers

Spanish authorities have arrested Ginés Valiente, a 53-year-old olive farmer, in connection with the disappearance of two African migrant workers.

Ibrahima Diouf, a Senegalese laborer, vanished in 2021 after confronting Valiente over unpaid wages.

Similarly, Tidiany Coulibaly, a Malian worker, disappeared in 2013 under similar circumstances.

Valiente, previously convicted of labor exploitation, was acquitted in 2016 due to insufficient evidence in Coulibaly's case.

Despite extensive searches involving drones, dogs, and divers, no trace of the men has been found.

Valiente's wife has also been detained as investigations continue.

The case highlights ongoing issues of labor abuse in Spain's agricultural sector.
