A 63-year-old French woman was found dead in her caravan in Alcossebre, Castellón, Spain.
The body, discovered on Thursday, showed signs of violence, with stab wounds reportedly inflicted by a sharp weapon.
The Guardia Civil is investigating the case as a homicide.
The victim was traveling alone, according to government delegate Pilar Bernabé, based on records from her previous stay in Tarragona.
The caravan was parked in a beach area called Cap i Corb.
While some witnesses reported seeing a man with the woman, officials maintain she was unaccompanied.
