A tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning at the Centro beach in Guardamar del Segura, Alicante, where an elderly couple lost their lives.

The 87-year-old man suffered a heart attack while in the water, prompting his 85-year-old wife to rush in to help him.

Unfortunately, upon realizing her husband was unresponsive, she went into shock and also suffered cardiac arrest.

Emergency services, including the Red Cross and SAMU, attempted to revive the couple for 40 minutes but were unsuccessful.

Both were vacationers from Madrid, and their deaths have left a somber mark on the beach community.
