The Guardia Civil in Madrid recently honored José Antonio Rosa, an officer who tragically died in April while pursuing criminals in San Agustín de Guadalix.
During a ceremony celebrating the patron saint of the Guardia Civil, Director Mercedes González praised Rosa's dedication and highlighted the arrest of ten individuals involved in the incident.
Despite a 1.5% drop in traditional crime rates in Madrid, González emphasized the ongoing challenges of cybercrime, drug trafficking, and gender violence.
The event also marked the appointment of Fernando Mora as the new head of the Madrid zone, who pledged to continue the Guardia Civil's commitment to public safety.
The ceremony included a military parade and the awarding of 50 decorations to various members of the armed forces and civil institutions.
