Junts per Catalunya has decided to withdraw its motion of confidence against Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
The move follows a weekend of intense discussions and a recommendation from international mediator Francisco Galindo, who urged Junts to avoid escalating tensions.
While Junts maintains distrust towards Sánchez and the PSOE, the party emphasized its trust in the mediator to facilitate future agreements.
The Spanish government, in turn, has made concessions, including adopting the Protocol 16 of the European Convention on Human Rights, a key demand from Junts.
This decision allows Spanish high courts to seek advisory opinions from the European Court of Human Rights.
Both sides have expressed a commitment to dialogue, aiming to ease political tensions and advance negotiations.
