The Spanish Popular Party (PP) is facing internal turmoil after a legislative error allowed for the potential early release of several ETA prisoners.

The mistake occurred when PP deputies, along with Vox and UPN, voted in favor of a legal reform proposed by Sumar, which aligns sentences served abroad with those in Spain.

This has sparked outrage within the party and among its supporters, as the reform could shorten the sentences of ETA members imprisoned in France.

Despite calls for resignations, PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo has decided not to force the resignation of the deputies involved, describing the error as "unjustifiable.

" The party is under pressure to address the political fallout, with Feijóo focusing his recent speeches on this issue rather than the intended topic of immigration.

The PP has accused the ruling PSOE of misleading them, further intensifying the political debate.
