The Spanish Senate, led by the Partido Popular (PP), is intensifying its investigation into the 'Caso Koldo,' a corruption case involving former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos.
The PP has summoned key figures, including Minister Ángel Víctor Torres and Carlos Moreno, chief of staff to Vice President María Jesús Montero, to testify later this month.
Torres is accused of misleading the Senate about his connections to the alleged corruption network, while Moreno faces similar allegations.
The investigation also targets Ábalos' personal connections, including his ex-partner Jéssica Rodríguez, who reportedly benefited from luxury accommodations linked to the case.
The PP, leveraging its Senate majority, aims to uncover irregularities in public contracts during the pandemic.
Despite the mounting pressure, Ábalos and others deny the allegations, with Torres vowing to cooperate fully.
The case continues to unfold, with more testimonies and evidence expected in the coming weeks.
