The Spanish Supreme Court has intensified its investigation into former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos, who is accused of corruption and influence peddling.
Judge Leopoldo Puente has ordered the Civil Guard to examine Ábalos' financial records and communications, as well as those of his son, Víctor.
The case, known as "Caso Koldo," involves allegations of public contract favoritism during the pandemic in exchange for commissions.
Businessman Víctor de Aldama and former advisor Koldo García are also under scrutiny.
Ábalos is set to testify on February 18, with 17 additional witnesses called later in the month.
The investigation seeks to uncover the extent of alleged misconduct, including claims of cash payments and misuse of properties for meetings.
