The Spanish conservative party, PP, has unveiled an ambitious housing plan aimed at addressing the country's housing crisis, which affects nearly 30% of the population.

Party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo announced a "time of exception" lasting four years to accelerate housing construction and rehabilitation, with half of the new homes designated as affordable.

The plan includes mobilizing public land, reducing construction timelines from 10 to 4 years, and offering tax breaks to landlords, tenants, and buyers.

Measures to combat illegal occupation and support vulnerable groups, including young people, are also central to the proposal.

Feijóo pledged to implement the plan within his first week in office if elected, aiming to build three million homes over 15 years.

The initiative has sparked debate, with critics questioning its feasibility and impact.
