In a bid to mend strained relations, a delegation from Spain's Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), led by Santos Cerdán, has traveled to Switzerland to meet with Carles Puigdemont, leader of the Catalan party Junts.

This meeting comes amid heightened tensions following Junts' recent parliamentary actions, which have disrupted key legislative efforts, including the regulation of temporary rentals and the stability path crucial for Spain's budget planning.

The PSOE aims to rebuild bridges with Junts, whose support is vital for the government's legislative agenda.

Despite ongoing dialogue, the meeting concluded without resolving the underlying issues, as Junts continues to express dissatisfaction with the PSOE's unfulfilled promises, such as the official recognition of the Catalan language in Europe.
