King Juan Carlos of Spain has embarked on a two-week visit to Galicia, participating in the Rey Juan Carlos-El Corte Inglés sailing competition in Sanxenxo.

His visit coincides with a private family gathering, where he met with his son, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and granddaughter, Princess Leonor, at the Naval School in Marín.

The family reunion was described as private and intimate, with no official photographs released.

While King Juan Carlos enjoys the regattas, King Felipe and Queen Letizia have been seen dining casually with Princess Leonor in Villagarcía de Arousa, warmly greeted by locals.

The royal visit has drawn significant public interest, highlighting the family's continued connection to Spain despite King Juan Carlos's residence in Abu Dhabi.
