Rescue teams from Cantabria and Asturias are racing against time to locate a 23-year-old hiker from León who went missing in the Picos de Europa.

The young man was last heard from on December 23, when he contacted his brother from a mountain refuge.

A joint command center has been set up in Sotres to coordinate the search, which now includes drones, ground teams, and helicopters.

Despite extensive efforts, including advanced mobile-detection technology, no trace of the hiker has been found.

Meanwhile, during the search, two lost hikers from Bilbao were successfully rescued.

The operation continues as freezing temperatures heighten the urgency.
