Spain is bracing for a severe weather event as a DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos) is set to bring torrential rains and strong winds across the country.
The Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued warnings for several regions, with the Mediterranean coast expected to be the hardest hit.
Areas such as the Community of Valencia, Murcia, and parts of Catalonia could see rainfall exceeding 150 liters per square meter in just 24 hours.
This intense weather is due to a combination of a stationary DANA, a low-pressure system, and unusually warm Mediterranean waters, which are contributing to the heavy moisture in the air.
The adverse conditions are expected to persist until at least Thursday, with the potential for flooding in low-lying areas and disruptions to transport.
Residents are advised to exercise caution and stay informed about the evolving weather situation.
