Spain is bracing for a weekend of intense weather as a low-pressure system brings widespread rain and storms across the country.
The Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued warnings for 28 provinces, with regions like Huesca, Tarragona, Castellón, Valencia, and the Balearic Islands under an orange alert for significant rainfall and thunderstorms.
The weather system is expected to cause a notable drop in temperatures, particularly in the northern and central parts of the country, while the Balearic Islands and Catalonia might see a slight increase.
The storms are predicted to be most severe in the northeast and along the Mediterranean coast, with potential for hail and strong winds.
As autumn officially begins on Sunday, the weather is expected to stabilize, although showers may persist in the northern regions.
Looking ahead, another Atlantic front is anticipated to bring more rain and cooler temperatures next week, particularly affecting the northern and northwestern areas of Spain.
