Spain Enhances Driver Training Post-DANA

Published: 2024-11-15

In response to the devastating DANA that struck Valencia on October 29, the Spanish government is implementing significant changes to driver education.

The Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) will now include training on how to handle natural disasters like DANA in the theoretical driving test.

This initiative aims to better prepare drivers for emergencies, following incidents where many were trapped or lost their vehicles in floods.

Additionally, a new online tool has been launched to help affected vehicle owners locate their cars, with 2,500 vehicles already listed.

The government has also announced a comprehensive financial aid package totaling 14,365 million euros to support those impacted by the disaster.

These measures reflect a broader effort to enhance public safety and resilience in the face of natural calamities.
